5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Non-Resident Indian Social Responsibility

An intellectual NRI is a Global citizen that has a holistic view of development with Global standards. 17 Sustainable Development Goals are these Global standards. Therefore, when we look at our MOTHERLAND through this looking glass the following gaps were identified in Rural India.

Lack of clean water, sanitation, basic amenities, quality education, 21st century skills, local governance, misuse of natural resources and poor economic development are few Rural problems in India to start with.

Considering the current conditions of Rural India, several NRIs around the world wanted to contribute knowledge, time, effort & finances to create sustainable models of rural areas that will reflect DEVELOPMENT IN FOLLOWING AREAS:

These 4 VERTICALS are still broken-down into 7 SECTORS:

Such holistic rural development can sustain when not just the government but other sectors such as Corporates, Universities, NGOs, NRIs etc., contribute BACK to the community.

Taking all these factors into consideration, NRI groups have designed SUSTAINABLE ECOFRIENDLY RURAL AREAS (SERA) and are implementing this project in rural AP & TELANGANA in collaboration with NIRDPR, NIMSME, SVM, PMIPCC, Bharat Scouts & Guides, NCC, NYK, Horticulture dept, IIMR, Education dept etc. with defined deliverables and a timeline of 5 YEARS including exit strategy for the Villages.

We Work Together For Save Humanity

Global poverty roots are in rural parts of the world where 3/4th of the world lives in rural areas. The poor stay poor or relocate themselves to cities because of lack of appropriate facilities & socio-economic inequalities.

Rural areas are still plagued by problems of POVERTY, ELECTRICITY, CLEAN WATER, CASTE, EDUCATION, FEMALE FOETICIDE, TRANSPORT, CHILD LABOR, MALNUTRITION, UNEMPLOYMENT, BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE, SANITATION, HEALTHCARE, etc. This has led to the youth moving out of villages to work in cities. This could be compared to the brain drain from India to US.

Our villages need to grow in tandem with cities and the standard of life has to improve. If rural India is poor, India is poor. The solution for these problems is SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT!

SERA Trust’s vision is to enable rural women, men & youth to create a sustainable living for themselves and their family which will contribute in reduction of poverty & resource management.
